FAQs
Will anyone be able to see my actual calendar events?
None of your calendar events are displayed in the app or stored. Your privacy is protected and guaranteed! Only events created on the platform will be stored.
Can anyone see, delete, or edit my shared calendars?
No one can see any of your calendar details other than free/busy blocks. Shared available times are determined based on these free/busy blocks which do not have any information on event name, location, or attendees.
Can I use this for work or business?
You could, but there are other options for that. Date Witch is intended for creating social events with your favorite people. Think playdates, girls’ trips, big family get-togethers, and guys hangouts.
Is this just for families?
You may invite anyone you like! All a group member needs is an email address and a digital calendar.
How many people can be in a group?
Currently, groups can contain up to 10 members.
How much am I really sharing once I sign up?
Our app uses Google Authentication to streamline and secure the sign-in process. When users log in with Google, we only receive basic profile information like name and email address—with the user’s explicit consent. We do not access your Google password or any other personal data without permission.
We do require allowing the app to send an email on your behalf so that group members can receive invitations.
We do store the names of your chosen shared calendars, created event names, and invitees for the sole purpose of sending out invitations.
All authentication is handled via secure, encrypted OAuth 2.0 protocols provided by Google. We also follow best practices for data privacy and comply with relevant standards such as GDPR and CCPA. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties without your consent. Security and privacy are top priorities for us.
